Here are a few questions to ask yourself if you want to shift your thinking….or just feel better.
When was the last time I drank water? Probably too long ago. Stop reading this and go drink at least 24 ounces of water.
When was the last time I ate something healthy, with protein?
Think about what you’ve eaten in the last 3 hours. All carbs? Mostly coffee?
Have I taken a shower in the last 12 hours? Even if you are planning to exercise. Showering will wake you up and help you feel ready to take on whatever you have planned, even a workout.
Have I moved my body to music recently? You don’t have to dance around your house (unless you want to), but take a class with music, a run or even a short walk with your earbuds in, will do magic for your mood.
Have I taken time to notice somebody and say something nice? Focusing on the positive will direct your brain from the negative to all the good around you.
When did I last hug a living being? Find a friend, your kids, your spouse, your pet or your neighbors pet. Anything with a heartbeat. Game changer.
Have I gotten my thoughts out of my head and onto paper? (This is incredibly effective) Give yourself 5 minutes to write whatever comes to mind. Don’t edit. Take a break and do something else. After a while, look at the paper. Put a circle around anything that is a fact. The rest is your thinking.
Am I breathing? Breathe. Close your eyes. Breathe in through your nose while counting to four slowly. Hold your breath while counting to four. Slowly exhale while counting to four. Repeat 1 to 3 times.
What am I wearing? Are you in pajamas, scrubs, workout clothes, slippers? Put on something that makes you feel good and ready to take on the world. Maybe even some lip gloss.
Can I Smile? It’s hard to think negative thoughts while smiling. Look around or find a memory – is there something that can put smile on your face right now?
I hope these help you as much as they have helped me!!
