Peace of Mind.
That’s all we really want.
It’s what I want to help you create.
I thought I was going to sail through mid-life. Not so much.
I lost my mom at an early age so I’ve always been motivated to be around for the long haul for both my husband and kids, by taking really good care of myself. And, as I cruised into midlife, I THOUGHT I was taking really good care of myself – I was eating well, exercising regularly, moderating alcohol…
However, I was unaware of how much worry I was carrying about big changes in my life — things I was trying to control and thought needed fixing– laid like a tangled, uncared for mess in my brain.
Little did I know how much worry was taking up a large portion of real estate in my brain, and that it was wreaking havoc on the quality of my life. I was lying in bed at night with my mind racing. Waking up in the mornings with a pit in my stomach.
I left my house in an ambulance one morning while my kids stood on the front porch. I was having my first and hopefully only, panic attack.
Midlife brings up ALL your crap. Did you know that?
It turns out, I was just like so many women in their 40’s and 50’s who are used to living in such a heightened state of stress, that they don’t even realize it! Navigating the combination of moving through life transitions, (aging parents, job changes, relationship adjustments, kids going to college), as well as the physical changes of hormonal shifts….Well, it’s just daunting.
Something had to change.
I knew I needed a better approach to not only understanding my fears, triggers, insecurities, doubts but also a way to guide myself through all the ups and downs with love and compassion for MYSELF and in a way that would benefit all parts of my life; my mental and physical health and all of my relationships..
And I knew I wanted to help other women do the same.
So I became a health and wellness coach through Duke Integrative Medicine and in combination with my Master’s in Educational Psychology background I created The Mindful Midlife; my signature one to one coaching program.
Through coaching I can help you uncover where living on autopilot is holding you back, and give you the tools I so desperately needed, so you too can decide how to think, feel and act with INTENTION.
You can stop reacting to your life’s changing circumstances and stressors.
You can start responding to them, the way you want to, and finally get some much needed peace.
I’d love to talk with you to tell you more.
